URGENT PSYCHIATRIC MATTERS
For very urgent matters, which absolutely cannot wait until the next business day call Green Oaks hospital triage desk at 972-770-0818 or go to Green Oaks Psychiatric Emergency Room at 7808 Clodus Fields Dr, Dallas, TX 75251. Other options for urgent care include:
Innovated Minds is an urgent care walk in psychiatric clinic that provides crisis assessments, medication management, and short term therapy.
Life Paths Mobile Crisis Outreach Team provides services for children and adults living in Collin County regardless of insurance status or income. They have a Crisis Hotline at 1.877.422.5939. This hotline has trained behavioral health professionals available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They have a clinically staffed mobile treatment teams that provide prompt face-to-face crisis assessment, crisis intervention, crisis follow-up, and relapse prevention for up to 90 days for individuals in the community.
Urgent matters should not be handled by leaving a message for the clinician or sending a message through the patient portal.
NON URGENT QUESTIONS
- NON URGENT MEDICAL QUESTION: If you have a non-emergent question and cannot wait until the next appointment then it is recommended that you reschedule your appointment for an earlier date and time. You can reschedule via the patient portal at patientfusion.com or you can call the office at 972-656-9532. We will try our best to work you into the schedule within 1-2 business days if no appointment times are available.
- SIMPLE MEDICAL QUESTIONS: If you have a simple and straightforward medical question then send an electronic message through your patient portal. If you do not have internet access you can call and leave a detailed message at 972-656-9532. We will make every attempt to respond to your question the same business day. Calls or electronic messages received Monday through Thursday after 3pm or on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will be returned the next business day.
- NON MEDICAL QUESTIONS: If you have questions about scheduling, refills, prior authorizations, getting your medication filled at the pharmacy, etc then send Marissa a message through the patient portal or call and leave a detailed message at 972-656-9532. We will make every attempt to respond to your question the same business day. Calls or electronic messages received Monday through Thursday after 3pm or on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will be returned the next business day.
SHOULD I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
At the Morrison Clinic we encourage you to make your health a priority in your life. Making your health a priority means that you invest the necessary time and money in order to achieve optimal health. Attending your appointments is vital to you achieving optimal health. It is also important that you be able to determine if you need to be seen sooner than your scheduled appointment.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT:
-New prescriptions and medication refills.
-Any adjustment that needs to be made to your current medications.
-If you are having problems with your medication such as side effects or if you feel the medication is not effective in managing your symptoms.
-If your insurance has denied coverage of your medication and is requiring you to try an alternative medication.
-If you or a loved one notices a change in your mood or personality.
HOW DO I RESCHEDULE MY CURRENT APPOINTMENT?
-The fastest way to reschedule your appointment is through the patient portal. However if you do not see a time that will work for you or you feel you need to be worked in sooner than call the office or send Marissa a message through the patient portal.
HOW LONG ARE MY FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS?
The length for established patient appointments are 15 minutes, we respect your time and will try to remain on schedule. The most common reason we run behind is due to spending more than the allotted time with a patient who is struggling. In order to respect the time of other patients, please limit the number of issues per visit. We want to make sure your most pressing concerns can be addressed during your appointment. When scheduling your appointment you are welcome to make additional follow up visits for the rest of your concerns or request a 30 minute appointment.
