Recommended Books, Articles, and Handouts

Bibliotherapy is a useful tool to bridge the gap between you and your therapist or psychiatrist.  By educating yourself you gain insight and knowledge into your difficulties.   If you want to make more rapid progress then you need to be working hard outside of your appointment time.    Some of the books I recommend can be read like a novel and others are structured workbooks with exercises.   I have arranged them according to disorders, but you do not have to been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder for one of the books on anxiety to be helpful.     If you have any questions, make a note so you remember to ask me at the next appointment.  Check back every once and while as the content will be ever changing as there are so many good resources available.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION

I created this worksheet to make it easier to apply the wonderfully helpful information found in The Center for Nonviolent Communication Handout titled “An Introduction to NonViolent Communication (NVC):A Language of Compassion Rather Than Domination.” This worksheet and the handout can be downloaded by clicking on the button below.
